How to setup your dual monitor / How It Works

More and more people these days do more and more work on their computers, so much so that they need dual monitors. Dual monitors are great to have, tow monitors and one computer tower. More people work from home these days and in doing different tasks simultaneously, the dual monitors come in handy. You can start one program on one monitor and maybe use the Internet on the other and you can just toggle back and forth between screens.

The set up is very simple; most computers have the capacity to handle dual monitors. Look on the back of your computer and see if they have two video output locations. One may be an analog port that has 15 or so blue pins and the other port will be a DVI, this will be wider and it will have more pins.

If there are no such ports you can buy a switch box and then connect both monitors to the switch box. Or your other choice is to buy a video card that has a port to set up for dual monitors. Use the software and follow the instructions. Then reboot the computer and set up your preferences and you are ready to go.

Plug the new screen into the DVI port and your first monitor into the analog port. Then load Windows into the second monitor, right click the properties selection and find the option to extend your desktop. Test the ports by toggling back and forth. Once you have successfully tested the monitors you are ready to go.
